These terms cover the BackBar Pro partner program, run by Backbar HQ LLC ("we", "us"). By applying to the program and sharing your partner code, you agree to these terms.
How to join
Joining is by application. We read every application ourselves and approve partners at our discretion. There is no fee to join.
Once you are approved, you get your own partner code and link. A stylist who signs up for BackBar Pro with your code or link is your referral.
Commission
These are the standard terms. If we agree different terms with you in writing, such as a different rate or number of months, those apply to you instead, and your rate and window are shown in your partner dashboard.
You earn 25% of every subscription payment each referred stylist makes during her first 12 paid months, counted from her first paid bill.
Once 10 of your referred stylists are paying at the same time, you become a Pro Partner and we switch your rate to 30% for payments from then on, still inside each stylist's first 12 paid months. We make the switch within a few days of you qualifying, and payments we have already processed keep the rate they were paid at.
We review Pro Partner status each January and July. If fewer than 10 of your referred stylists are paying at a review, your rate returns to 25% for later payments.
First-stylist bonus: if a stylist you referred makes her first payment within 90 days of the day we approve you, we add a one-time $50 bonus. It is paid once per partner, with your commission.
Commission is based on the amount actually collected on each bill. A discount, credit or refund changes what you earn on that bill, and a bill fully covered by a credit earns nothing.
Commission becomes payable 30 days after the payment it is based on. If that payment is refunded before then, the commission is voided, along with any first-stylist bonus that payment earned.
What your followers get
A stylist who signs up with your code gets a 30-day free trial, then $28 off her first bill. This is for new BackBar Pro accounts only.
Your own account
If you are new to BackBar Pro, you get 30 days of Premium free when you sign up after we approve you, using the email on your partner account.
While you are a Pro Partner, your own Premium plan is free.
Payout
We pay partners by hand, on a monthly basis, for whatever has become payable. There is no minimum payout amount. We need a completed Form W-9 on file before your first payout.
Rules
No self-referral. Your own account, or an account that belongs to you or someone in your household, does not earn commission or a bonus under your code.
No ads on the BackBar Pro name. Do not bid on "BackBar", "BackBar Pro" or similar terms in paid search, and do not run paid ads that use our name.
No coupon or deal sites. Do not post your code on coupon, deal or cashback sites.
No income claims. Do not promise anyone that they will earn a certain amount, from BackBar Pro or from this program.
No claims you cannot back up. Only say what BackBar Pro does, and what it has done for you, when it is true.
No giveaways on our behalf. Do not run a contest or giveaway in BackBar Pro's name.
Disclosure
Every time you recommend BackBar Pro with your code or link, use this exact wording: "I earn a commission if you sign up for BackBar with my code."
In a video, say it out loud and show it on screen. Put it right next to the recommendation, not only in your bio. The FTC requires this, and so do these terms.
Content you post about BackBar Pro
We may repost content you make about BackBar Pro (a video, a screenshot, a testimonial) across our own marketing, with you tagged as the creator and without your partner code attached. Signups that come from something we repost this way do not earn you commission, since your code was not involved.
That right is free and non-exclusive. You keep every right to your own content and can use it however you like. If we want to use your content in a PAID ad (not just our own organic posts and site), we will ask you separately.
Independent contractor
You are an independent contractor, not an employee or agent of BackBar Pro or Backbar HQ LLC, and "partner" here does not create a legal partnership. You are responsible for your own taxes on anything we pay you; a Form 1099 is issued where required by law.
Changes and termination
We can improve these terms at any time, and improvements apply right away. A change that lowers what you earn applies only to stylists who sign up after the change, and we give you 30 days' notice first.
We can end your participation, or the program, at any time. Commission you have already earned is still paid under the terms in place when you earned it.
