Is extensions tracking on both plans?

Recording a set, placing it on the head diagram, and keeping the install and move-up dates are on every plan. Only the extensions inventory shelf is Premium: stock counts, linking a set to a shelf item, scanning a pack to match it, and restock alerts.

Do I have to link a set to my shelf?

No. Linking is optional and you do it by hand, either by picking the item off your shelf or scanning a pack to match it. An unlinked set still records everything about the install, it just does not move a stock number. Prefilling from her last appointment deliberately does not re-link, so a prefill can never quietly decrement the wrong pack.

Does BackBar Pro remind me when a client is due for a move-up?

Not on its own. The next move-up date sits on her client card with a flag showing whether she is already booked for it, so you can see it when you look. Nothing sends her a text or pushes you a notification about it.
